Sommarhack 2015 invitation

As our good friends from DHS were too lame busy to code a decent invitro for this years Sommarhack party, they begged kindly asked us for help. This cooperation of SPKR (code), 505 (music) and mOdmate (gfx) was presented at Outline 2015 where it ranked #1 in the combined Atari intro competition.

ATM 10 years

We know that demo releases between parties got a little bit out of fashion lately. We even know that we were hesitant towards making use of the features of the STE, to say the least. ;-)

However, here is never sleeping lsl with his latest demo for Atari STE, Mega STE and Falcon 030. It is dedicated to Saxony based record label ATM records, which was founded 10 years ago.

Morphonic Lab XI Invitation

We released an invitation for this years Morphonic Lab IX event, which took place at 20 of october 2012. The prod features some new technical approaches, such as new sound routs (so better check on real hardware). Code, design and music by lsl and Defjam, graphics by Joe Lehmann, modmate and Exocet.

We got Coke

We are glad to welcome our latest member: Mr. Coke - an Atariscene veteran from the golden Atari Falcon years in the mid-90s, when he was active in crews like Avena or Absence as well as involved in party organisation and later on democoding for the Risc-PC group Icebird.

Anyway, we are glad to have another active and experienced coder and musician in our ranks - some recent output was shown in one and yet another Atari ST 4k intro.

Revision 2012 Invitation

Today we released an invitation demo for this years edition of Revision, the biggest pure demoscene event taking place next weekend in Saarbrücken, Germany. The invitation runs on Atari ST, STE and MegaSTE computers, possibly Falcon, too.

We got great graphic support from Alk/Titan and Bracket/Dekadence for this production (just see above). Thanks you very much! Enjoy, be there and spread the oldschool spirit!

Update:
Dead Hackers Society now provides a video of the invitation :)

Checkpoint releases 4z!

At Silly Venture party this November we entered the Atari ST intro compo with 2 x 4 Kb intros. The serious entry is called "4z" and was coded by Defjam, music by 505. It includes new or 100% recoded effects as well as a new music routine with SID-effects. The soundroutine bases on a new sequencer and instrument approach which computes Sidsound Designer pattern & instrument data as input files.

The second intro is a lame turnaround of our duties, code by 505, music by Defjam. Music routine here is the Insignia Trisound format. We recommend to not watch this one ;)

YM2149 4 bit sound experiment - 1 channel, 4 bit madness

Related to the experiments by Viznut & Visy (see the discussion Defjam made some experiments of the method on Atari ST. Download the 128-byte intro there.

Morphonic Lab Invitation for Atari ST

Checkpoint released an Atari ST invitation for the audio-visual performance Morphonic Lab 10. The event is going to take place in Dresden, Germany on 8th of October.

Fresh stuff from Sommarhack!

Sommarhack party is over and XiA even finished two prods for it!

Word is a slideshow of the many logotypes XiA created during the last erm.. decades. Have a glance at XiA's longterm output, the programm works on Atari STE.
Report 2011 is the party report for the recent Sommarhack party. With this prod, you can have a small share of the awesome Sommarhack experience by having a look at party photos and more. A video is over there.

See you next year hopefully and may the pig be with you!

Outline releases: 128 synced bytes and more

The traditional Atari party Outline 2011 in Netherlands is over. Some of us entered with an entry in different competitions. For the code, Defjam contributed with a little 128 byte intro for Atari ST called "128SYNC". Have a look how 128 bytes can be used efficiently to create much of joy :)

Apart from this, 505 ranked first in the tracked music compo with the Atari STE chiptune "Hushrush" and Exocet won the 16 colors graphics compo with this refreshing "6 Legged Freak":

Oops, forgot to mention ...

last Christmas, we brought you the Nintendo-DS version of the more or less famous Snowman-Demo. It is a slideshow converted from the original the Atari ST release. Download it over there.

Checkpoints latest victim: Nintendo DS

Finally lsl has finished his sample sequencer for Nintendo DS. It includeds nice filtering, some Kaos-Pad functions and lot of heavy stuff. You can get an impression of its capabilities with this live recording of a Hardcore techno NDS-j set by lsl here.

Get the software release for your Nintendo DS at Pouet.net and enjoy.

Back from Poland - Visualized

As a spontanous project we decided to contribute to the Silly Venture Atari demo compo with a new Atari ST release named Visualize. It was done in a hurry, using some new approaches (no, not quitting cleanly to desktop for a change!).
Enjoy our first attempts in more advanced syncing of stuff - using gwEms outstanding maxymiser routine with the zync-byte. The demo loops endlessly with delays of visuals and music, so the synchronisation should be differing each round.

Code was done by Defjam, music by 505.
Thanks to gwEm & Grey, for the Zyncyventure!

New member!

We are very happy to welcome multifunctional Excellence in Art (XiA) as a new member of our group. XiA has created quite a couple of STE-specific demos in the beginning of the nineties. So welcome on board and let's see what we will work out together!

Just around Christmas 2009 we released a little production. The Snowman 2009 is a remix of the classic Snowman demo. Enjoy and see you next year.
